We just acquired a company! Exciting stuff, Accenture is currently really investing in gaining strategic capabilities, also in the security field. As part of this effort we bought Gestalt, an business and technology consulting firm that helps clients develop practical yet innovative solutions that drive competitive advantage in complex decision environments…ok this is small talk, basically the capability is in helping defense organizations achieve systems interoperability and collaboration, allowing information systems from separate branches of the armed services to share battlefield information in support of joint military operations. Gestalt’s command and control; modeling, simulation and training; and defense and commercial energy management solutions will give us new strength on the mission side of IT-related services, and a complement to our traditional focus on the back office. Interpretation - informationAccenture’s refreshed advertising campaign launched the week of October 1 includes four new television commercials, five new print and airport poster ads and six new online ads. The ads’ “call-to-action” messaging encourages audiences to see insights from Accenture’s research and experience with high-performance businesses at accenture.com/research.

Continuing to demonstrate the characteristics that define Tiger Woods as a high performer, the “Drowned Clubs” TV ad shows Tiger’s response when faced with an unexpected turn of events that threatens his success. lees verder…

A recent article in the guardian triggerd me to find out more about the surveilance business. Today a number of companies are working on the next generation of CCTV applications. Engineers at British defence company BAE Systems, which is working on the technology, claim they are able to automatically follow a lees verder…

fiets wegHas your bike ever been stolen? And did you ever get it back?

According to an article in De Stentor, next year, the police will start using special scanners to locate stolen bikes. As of January 27th 2008, a database will become available with the chip numbers of stolen bikes.

This is in line with the target set by the government to reduce the number of stolen bikes by 100.000/year; Currently 750.000 bikes are stolen per year!

n95-iphone_48.jpgI bought the Nokia N95 some time ago. A great product and I’m very happy with it. Shot some nice photos, phone and internet work fine and the extra 2.0 features are excellent. Just don’t get the Maps app working.

Honestly though, if I had the opportunity back then to buy the iPhone, I might have chosen the marketing champion. The messages then were though that it wouldn’t be available until early next year. Easy choice. Now I read all these messages that they are sold already in the Netherlands, made possible through some creative tweaking.

Did anyone buy one of these? Should I sell my N95? I hope not. The life of a gadget freak is hard enough as it is….
