Mastercard is currently discussing the introduction of PayPass in The Netherlands. This card works with an RFID tag and is already in use in various countries, including the US, where it was introduced in 2003, and the UK, France, Switzerland and Turkey.
PayPass can be part of your credit card or bank card, but it’s also possible to make it part of your mobile phone (and this is fun, according to customers at a C1000 supermarket). And PayPass would be perfect for small payments, and thus a direct competitor (or replacement) of the Chipknip (the chip that is visible on your bankcard and requires contact to be used). lees verder…
