The RIA (Rich Internet Application) Community of Practice launched the RIA Coding Challenge on October 3, 2008. This initiative was jointly sponsored by SI&T Technology Architecture, AIMS, the IDC, the Accenture Technology Labs, and Accenture CIO.

The objective of the Challenge was for individuals across Accenture to create innovative and useful enterprise desktop applications based on newly opened Accenture APIs and the latest generation of RIA technologies – getting inspiration from our fresh Desktop RIA PoV and guidance through our RIA Architecture Toolkit.

When the submission period was closed (November 28, 2008) the jury had to review some amazing desktop mashups - imagined and developed by 15 teams from around the world.

It’s been a while since my last post but I finally found something that is really worth sharing. Accenture is building a set of new interfaces which may be interesting for the sensoring and data analysis in the security context (massive amounts of data that need to be contextualized). The Interactive Wall is a large interactive display with a multi-user touch screen interface for novel services and insight applications.
