Globalization as we knew it – a developing world model - is changing to a multi-polar model where the sources of economic activity are emerging across the planet at different rates, at different speeds, with different drivers; but all fundamentally networking into an interdependent global economy. This is the second wave of globalization we’re in right now.

This multi-polar world is developing fast. The question we’re facing is how to navigate in this multi-polar world, to steer our businesses, our product strategies and our product portfolios to survive this dynamic global shift.  lees verder…

china-sichuan-man-crying.JPGHello and welcome to my 4th China Bike Ride update. First of all the update on the funding: overall the balance has now reached RMB 263.534, which equals almost USD 40.000! This is a very good score so far! We still have 7 weeks to go till the funding deadline of August 15th.

My personal booked balance is RMB 7.000. Note: this is exclusive RMB 28.000 via AOS (see previous update) and appr. RMB 4.500 via a new AOS donation. Also I expect another RMB 14.000 soon. This could bring the total balance to RMB 53.500 (USD 8.000) My initial target of USD 3.000 is now a stretched target of USD 10.000. Please help achieving this goal! Donate!

A special thank you for the Lionsclub Utrecht Novum (Vleuten-de Meern/Leidscherijn). They donated USD lees verder…

Hi everybody! This update I would like to open with the very very good news that the AOS OGP NL team has donated a total of USD 4.167! A huge well done for Marc K., Marc D., Kees, Selma, Robert, Maurits and Bart. On behalf of myself and the whole of the 2009 China Biking Committee, thanks for your amazing fund-raising efforts. My individual target amount of USD 3.000 has now already been exceeded. Nevertheless I call upon everyone who has not yet contributed: please DONATE. The children lees verder…

Hi All! This is the 2nd update regarding the Rebuilding Hope Charity Event. First of all a huge thanks goes out to everyone who has already donated! But I am still a long way from raising the RMB 20,000 (USD 3,000) which is required to participate in this event. Status as of 11-6 is just above RMB 2,000. Deadline is August 15th! Good news is that the AOS NL OGP leads have committed to a big donation, which should arrive this month!

Let me give you a bit more background information.  lees verder…

Welcome to my first official Accenture blogpodium update. In Chinese they would say: Nǐ hǎo (Hello) Since my registration a week ago a lot has happened. I already have received some donations! Thank you Jan, Sander, Wart, Jeroen, Florijn, Aad and Berney. I really appreciate it!
A lot of activities are planned to achieve the minimum of USD 3000 before August 15th. For example presentations at my business unit and C&HT NL, lunch with the AOS lead, Accenture Hope Schoolongoing e-mailing and talking with possible interested colleagues, etc etc. Many actions will follow. For sure this will lead to more donations and maybe even to new joiners! 15-20 overseas are allowed and so far only 2 have joined: an Australian colleague and of course me. Plenty of room left! Do not hesitate and join me! lees verder…

26-30 September 2009, Accenture employees from all over the world will cycle 450km in the high altitude terrain of Shangri-la, Western China.

For the first time, employees from outside Greater China will be eligible to participate in the toughest bike ride yet – selected participants will be cycling 450km in just 5 days and in demanding conditions. We will be raising funds for the urgently needed Accenture sponsored Hope School which is currently being built, but is running short of funds and urgently requires more money in order to reach completion.
