Everyone is talking about the Cloud. And reducing cost is one of the most hailed advantages of migrating to the cloud. Infra and software clouds do offer the sharing of commodities which provides these advantages. But Cloud computing and SaaS do also enable innovative and differencing solutions within organizations with cloud platforms . These advantages are discussed at Innovate IT 2010 conference where ‘Creating innovation in the Cloud’ is the main theme. International keynote speakers from Accenture and other leading cloud system integrators and suppliers will provide an usefull update concerning the latest trends and challenges on the cloud, and will discuss the value of Cloud to Innovate in IT. I got the Nexus One
I got the Nexus One, the new Google Android phone. And it works great. Obviously, as a tech-savvy person, I am always interested in the latest technology gadgets and the Nexus One did for sure not disillusion me.
It is not the small gadgets that impressed me most but the melting together of the web and daily life. For instance, Layar (a bit dated now) which is available both on the iphone and Android is an impressive augmented reality application allowing to see the world with an extra information layar. And then you have Google Goggles (which is Android only) that allows you to visually search several items such as photos of books, business cards, artwork, places, logos and landmarks with your camera. It is close to my earlier vision where image will be a strong user interaction channel, more than text-input.

As I mentioned in an earlier blogpost the i
nternet is evolving towards a pervasive ubiquitous medium. Last decennium was a strong witness of the rise of social computing where people share, influence and create knowledge. Crowdsourcing such as Wikipedia, but also folksonomies, and social networks are the proof that the collaborative and participative computing platform generates and manages new ideas more effectively. DRIA: Toekomst van Desktop Applicaties
Afgelopen week presenteerde ik als dagvoorzitter de laatste web trends op CMS congres in Nijmegen. Daar gebruikte ik ook als primeur in Nederland de nieuwe Prezi presentatie software. Prezi.com geeft het presenteren namelijk een hele andere dimensie en gaat veel meer vanuit een mindmap dan vanuit de slide-for slide gedachte. Het aantrekkelijke van deze presentatie software is niet dat het net als andere add-ons meer rijkere presentatie features geeft, maar het paradigma verandert dat je een gedachtenlijn kunt volgen en daar bij meer focus kunt geven door in en uit te zoomen als het beeld te roteren zonder het overzicht te verliezen.
